All deposits made towards your limousine reservation(s) are non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, you will be able to use your deposit towards any future booking within one year of the original booking date. For airport and point-to-point transfers, all “no shows” are non-refundable

Cancellation

If you contact us to cancel more than 7 days in advance, you will be refunded any amount paid minus a cancellation fee of $10. If you contact us to cancel more than 72 hours in advance, you will be refunded any amount paid minus a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is the greater of $25 or 20% of the quoted rate of the reservation. If you contact us to cancel less than 72 hours in advance, we reserve the right to give you NO REFUND. However, please contact us as we might be willing to give a partial refund in certain situations.

Subcontractor Use Policy

To provide the best Limousine Services to our customers, we also use the services of other reliable Limousine Companies under our quality control & supervision. These advised subcontracted vehicles may be required to provide the additional service at addition charges. Where a particular Vehicle is requested, Ecolimo will do its utmost to provide this  the exception will be due to unforeseen circumstances; breakdown or such where it is beyond Ecolimo’s capacity to provide this service. If we are unable to supply you will receive a full refund

Alternative Vehicle Policy

All efforts shall be made by the company to provide the vehicles reserved by the hirer. If not possible, the company shall try to make alternative arrangements or refund the money at their discretion.

Limits of Liabilities

In all cases, the company’s maximum liability shall be limited to the refund of fare paid by the hirer. No claims for Liquidated Damages, Consequential Losses or for any other nature shall be admissible.

LPG cars’ greenhouse emissions are about 15 per cent less than in petrol cars. LPG costs about half the price of petrol and Federal Government incentives can take up to $4000 off the car’s price, depending on the model.

As a gas, LPG doesn’t produce land and water pollution and Australia has an abundant supply of LPG. There are negatives though. LPG is less efficient than petrol. For example: an LPG Falcon uses 15.1L/100km compared with 10.7L/100km for the petrol model. LPG versions are also more expensive than their petrol equivalents - the Ford minimally so ($1400) but for the LPG-powered Commodore the price difference is almost $4000.

Australian Pioneers

Ecolimo pioneered the introduction of environmentally friendlier hire car and limousine services in Australia. Established in Melbourne in 2006 we started out with the luxurious hybrid Lexus GS450H which produces 45% less CO2 emissions than a standard limousine. A Carbon Neutral Company

Still, we wanted to offer an even more environmentally friendly choice and although the Toyota Prius fit the bill, the size of the Prius wheel base did not comply with State laws applied to the hire car industry in both NSW and Victoria.

Never one to turn our back on a challenge, Ecolimo lobbied governments in NSW and Victoria to change the law as it no longer reflected community sentiments. Finally in late 2007 the law was changed in NSW enabling Ecolimo to create an even greener choice hire car and limousine service for environmentally discerning Sydneysiders.

And so in January 2008, for the first time ever in Australia, the Toyota Prius was used officially as a hire car by Ecolimo.

Following the change in regulation in NSW, we knew that it was only a matter of time before Victoria followed suit and when it did in June 2008, we promptly added two Prius to our Melbourne fleet. After all, we didn’t want anyone to think we were playing favourites.

Melbourne company Ecolimo is aiming provide a green alternative for people who are interested in reducing carbon emissions. The Ecolimo GS450h is powered by a 3.5-litre petrol V6 and two 147kW electric motors and boasts impressive fuel economy, low emissions and quietness with high performance. It has 22 per cent more power than the most powerful model in the Australian Lexus range and its combined fuel-consumption is 7.9 litres/100km. Q. How do the cars work

A. Regenerative Braking. The electric motor applies resistance to the drivetrain causing the wheels to slow down. In return, the energy from the wheels turns the motor, which functions as a generator, converting energy normally wasted during coasting and braking into electricity, which is stored in a battery until needed by the electric motor. Electric Motor Drive/Assist. The electric motor provides additional power to assist the engine in accelerating, passing, or hill climbing. Automatic Start/Shutoff. Automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop and restarts it when the accelerator is pressed. This prevents wasted energy from idling.

How the carbon trading system works

Projects that prevent emissions such as wind farms generate carbon credits that can then be sold to offset emissions for other businesses or events. Climate friendly is like a broker for carbon credits. Their job is to source high quality carbon credits that adhere to standards set by the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) and on sell these to businesses or events looking to offset their CO2 emissions.

Supporting green projects

When Ecolimo purchases carbon credits to offset our CO2 emissions we are effectively supporting renewable energy projects that would otherwise be unable to provide effective enough pricing to compete in the open market. How are the hybrid cars able to save on emissions?

Regenerative Braking. The electric motor applies resistance to the drivetrain causing the wheels to slow down. In return, the energy from the wheels turns the motor, which functions as a generator, converting energy normally wasted during coasting and braking into electricity, which is stored in a battery until needed by the electric motor. Electric Motor Drive/Assist. The electric motor provides additional power to assist the engine in accelerating, passing, or hill climbing. Automatic Start/Shutoff.
