It’s who you know
As Alan was held up at the airport, the unsuspecting customers had to put up with me driving them to ANZ Stadium for the deciding game in the State of Origin decider between Queensland and NSW.
Apparently the trip to Homebush is a nightmare when there is big crowd expected. Luckily these blokes worked in radio and were well connected, a quick call to their mate “Wally”and I was given some sound advice on the best route to the stadium.
It was only later as I wandered back from the drop off and saw the traffic along Hombush Drive banking way back did I realise how valuable this advice had been.
Veteran traffic reporter Ian Wallace was the “Wally” on the line. My advice when you hear his traffic reports over the airwaves … take heed.
